Obituary
James Edward Samuels, Jr. (affectionately known as “Jimmie” to his family and friends) was born on November 7, 1968, to James Edwards Samuels, Sr., and Cheryl Watts Samuels in Miami Beach, Florida.
Jimmie was a very happy and spirited young boy who was loved by many.
He was educated in schools in Miami, Florida, and Forestville, Maryland.
Jimmie used to say that he was a “Jack-of-all-trades and master of every one of them!” He really did work at many kinds of jobs, but his passion was in cooking, grilling, and baking. He loved the compliments he received from those tasting his food. Jimmie was also a gifted artist and a very good painter. He never met strangers, had a great sense of humor, and had a smile that charmed most people who crossed his path. Watching sports on TV on one of his most pleasurable pastimes and people who knew him were well aware that he was a devoted, diehard Miami Dolphins “Dolphan!!” Jimmie loved his family very much.
Jimmie leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his loving wife, Arndra Woody Samuels; stepchildren, Mikeisha Albert (Michael Albert, Sr.) of Atlanta, GA, Rosetta Reid, Tishaunbi Sampson (Cody) of Miami, FL; mother and stepfather, Cheryl and Charlie Brown of Conyers, GA; aunts, Elizabeth Nesbitt (Meredith) of Stonecrest, GA, Patrice Brown of Douglasville, GA, LaCheryl Redman (Tony) of Tallahassee, FL, Valencia Green of Tallahassee, FL, Connie Oestricher of Columbus, GA, Wendy Prescott (Tony) of Hollywood, FL, Laverne Miller of Columbus, GA, Elissa Boynton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Tracy Boynton of Columbus, GA; uncle, Darrell Samuel of Columbus, GA; brothers, Jason Mitchell of Florida and James Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; son, James Edward Samuels III of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Paige Samuels and Kaylani Taylor of Miami, FL; cousin (who was like a brother), Te’vin Nesbitt of Stonecrest, GA; special cousins, Christine Sampson of Miami, FL, Jalisa Brown of Fairburn, GA, Tiana Nesbitt of Stonecrest, GA, and Annette Johnson of Miami Gardens, FL; godmother, Shelia Jackson of Miami Gardens, FL; godbrother, Henry “Leo” Crawford of Pembroke Pines, FL; best friend, Jimmy Kirkland of Miami Gardens, FL; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and sorrowing friends. He will be sorely missed. We all loved him, but God loved him best.
