Obituary
The life of Mr. Jimmy Robinson, Jr., the son of the late Jimmy and Beltha Robinson. He was born on February 8, 1949, in Americus, GA. He was the oldest of eleven children and two preceded him in death.
He was baptized at an early age. He attended public school in Americus, GA. He moved to Miami in 1970. His first job was at Regal Beer Company of Overtown. He was there until they relocated.
Later on in life, Jimmy met and married Dianne Thomas, and to that union, they had three daughters. Jimmy started working at Florida Power and Lighting in 1974. He was there for 37 years.
Jimmy joined Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Oliver Gilbert, Jr., of Opa-Locka, FL. He loved cooking breakfast for them. He later started a male choir. Later on, he was under the leadership of Pastor Doris Wright until she retired and then under Bishop A. J. Wright.
Everyone who knew Jimmy knew he loved fishing, bowling, and playing cards with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 51 years, Dianne Robinson; three daughters, Latonya (Early) Pierce, Nyia (Ricardo) Simeon, and Takia Robinson, all of Miami, FL; four grandchildren, Quantenae D. Robinson, DeShawn and DeQuan Griffin, and Makaih Robinson; one brother-in-law, Robert (Myriam) Thomas of Miami, FL; two sisters-in-law, Paralee Thomas of Chicago, IL, and Mildred Bowen of Newark, NJ; four sisters, Hazel Robinson of Americus, GA, Debrann Robinson of Sanderville, GA, Patricia Thomas, and Martha Robinson of Americus, GA; four brothers, Joseph Robinson of Americus, GA, Charles, Johnny, and Kenneth Robinson of Albany, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
