Obituary
Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Mother Juanita Roberson was born on July 15, 1940, in Georgia to the late Mr. Bozie and Mrs. Lenora Stewart. She resided in Georgia until they relocated to Miami, FL.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, which made her a proud “Towner for Life”. She continued her educational pursuits at Miami Dade College and was licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1965. Upon graduation, she immediately began her lifelong employment at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Throughout her extensive professional career of 38 years, she simultaneously dedicated her services to numerous other employers, such as Bethesda Drug Treatment Program, and Mercy Hospital. She looked forward to her life after retirement. She traveled nationally and internationally with her family and friends. She later became the President of the Neighborhood Crime Watch Committee to occupy her leisure time, which she took very seriously. She enjoyed keeping her lifelong residence in Wynwood clean and beautiful inside and out with house chores and gardening.
In addition, she was especially known for her remarkable fried sweet potatoes and chicken wings. It is seen as a simple recipe, but no one has been able to duplicate the taste as of today. She touched the lives of many people. Everyone knew her for her resilience and strong will. Her heart of gold and fearless attitude made her a person everyone depended upon. She was there for everyone whenever they needed her. Whether it was financially, emotionally, or physically. Her grandchildren, nicknamed her “Madea.” She was dubbed the neighborhood nurse. After long hours at work, she found time to care for her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Everyone that knows her or has interacted with her has a profound unforgettable story or memory about her. She truly left her footprint on many individuals. The love she showed was priceless and never-ending. Her reflection will be remembered from generation to generation.
She is survived by her children Sharon Roberson, Keith Roberson, Daron Roberson, Debra Roberson, and Lativia Davis. Her youngest daughter Lativia Davis was her primary caretaker until her resting day, who she completely entrusted with her overall well-being; sixteen grandchildren: Laqawana Roberson, Felicia Horne, Quanecia Hollis, Tawanna Cooper, Johnisha Cooper, Preston Roberson, Tina Ward, Keyana Pitaluga, Judonn Roberson, Antonio Brinson, Antwaun Brinson, Keith James, Kistarra Roberson, Keevon Roberson, Jasmine Wimes, , and Keith Roberson, Jr; 35 great grandchildren, and Aunt/Sister Erma Martin.
It was a bittersweet day when God called her name. Her legacy will be boldly carried by her family. Her greatness will never wither because of those she deeply inspired through her teaching. Her determination and strength were unmatched and will never be exceeded.
