Obituary
A time to be born
In Miami, Florida on Saturday, August 4, 1979, a beautiful bouncing baby girl was born. She was lovingly named Latonya Patrice Beal and from the very beginning, her life reflected the warmth, purpose, and a deep capacity for love.
A time to learn
Latonya affectionately known as “Tonya” to her close friends and loved ones, attended Holmes Elementary School, Charles R. Drew Middle School, American Senior High School, and Cope Center. Her radiant smile and gentle spirit earned her the love and respect of many, and she formed lifelong connections wherever she went.
Following high school, Latonya continued her education at Kaiser University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree as Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), these accomplishments marked the beginning of a career that reflected her natural compassion and heart for service.
A time to work
For over 15 years, Latonya faithfully worked as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner; serving with various healthcare companies throughout her career. She genuinely loved what she did and found fulfillment in caring for individuals with various ailments. Her clinical focus was Nephrology (kidney care) where she provided dedicated care to individuals with kidney conditions. Latonya took pride in nurturing others back to health providing comfort, dignity, and compassion to everyone placed in her care. Her work was not just a profession, it was a calling and a reflection of who she was at her core.
Called Home in Love
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the Lord gently called Latonya Patrice Beal home, wrapping her in eternal peace. While our hearts ache in her absence, we are comforted by the beautiful life she lived and the deep love she shared so freely with those around her. Latonya was the heart of her family — a steady presence, a listening ear, and a warm embrace when it was needed most. Her kindness was not loud, but it was constant; her strength was not boastful, but it was unwavering.
To know Latonya was to experience genuine care. She loved deeply and without condition. Whether through a reassuring word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her quiet presence, she made those she loved felt seen, valued, and protected. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured herself wholeheartedly into nurturing, supporting, and encouraging them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gregory A. Beal Jr., whom she loved dearly and whose memory she carried with tenderness.
Left to cherish her beautiful legacy are her precious daughter, Shyteriah Taylor, who was the light of her life; her devoted mother, Albertha Beal, whose bond with Latonya was rooted in love and mutual strength; her cherished brother, Dwayne A. Beal; with whom she shared laughter, loyalty, and an unbreakable bond; her loving aunts and uncles; dear cousins; and a host of caring friends who became family. The love they shared with Latonya was reciprocal, genuine, and enduring.
Though she has entered eternal rest, the compassion she showed, the warmth she gave, and the love she nurtured will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to call her family and friend.
