Obituary
Linda Patterson-Johnson was born on May 30, 1956, in Miami, to Robert Patterson and Katherine O’Hara Patterson.
Linda received her primary education through the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system, attending Phyllis Wheatley Elementary, Van E. Blanton Elementary School, and Horace Mann Middle School, before graduating from Miami Central Senior High School in 1974. She later attended Miami Dade College for some time.
Linda began her working journey at the post office. Shortly thereafter, she worked with Immigration and later began a dedicated career with Miami-Dade County, serving as a school crossing guard, school bus aide, and school bus driver. She eventually became a bus operator with Miami-Dade Transit, where she faithfully worked until her retirement in 2018.
Linda lived life to the fullest and was never afraid to show the world who she truly was. She was loving, gentle, generous, and kind-hearted, never one to complain and always willing to give. Some of her favorite pastimes included watching game shows, shopping, attending church, and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to everyone around her.
On Friday, February 13, 2026, God called His beloved angel home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Patterson, and her brother, Eddie Patterson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving mother, Katherine O’Hara Patterson; her siblings, Allyod Graham (Bruce), Danette Patterson, and Dale Patterson; her three children, Mateisha Patterson, Darrol Johnson, and Diamond Johnson; seven grandchildren, Shetavia McCray, Shontae Reynolds, Shaquoria Reynolds, Darrol Johnson, Jr., Marcellas Harris, I’yana Johnson, and D’kyra Johnson; beloved nephews, Eddie (Lamarrow), Robert (Ron), Raynard (Ray), Ryan, Aaron, and Koa; beloved nieces, Tamicka and Ebony; special friend she viewed as a sister, Edith; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Linda’s love will continue to live on through the generations to come. Though she will be deeply missed, she will never be forgotten.
Our beloved Linda, affectionately known as “Naynay,” was the heart of our family. A devoted mother, a cherished daughter, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend. In every role she carried, she gave her whole heart. She lived gently, loved deeply, and gave generously, never complaining no matter what she faced. Her kindness was quiet but powerful, and her strength was steady and unwavering. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel seen, safe, and loved. The legacy of love she leaves behind will continue to
guide and comfort us for generations to come.
