Obituary

Ms. Lonnie Mae Donaldson, affectionately known as “Granny,” was born on August 18, 1929, to Willie and Gertrude Lee as the only girl out of three brothers, Charlie, Oliver, and Grady Lee. She was born in Dukes, Florida, and early in life relocated to Miami, Florida. Lonnie Mae was a graduate of Dorsey High School, later gaining and retiring after 23 years of dedication from Barfield Instrumental Company. She knew and loved the Lord and sought out to serve him; she was a faithful member of Greater New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Jazzy Member of Usher Board #2 for over 50 years. She remained a faithful servant until her health issues.

Lonnie Mae was blessed with one child, Sandra Jean Lee. She loved her family and took joy in fellowshipping with them. On November 29, 2024, she heard God whisper, “It’s time to say goodnight.” It’s never goodbye, for we shall see her again.

Lonnie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Gertrude Lee; brothers, Charlie, Oliver, and Grady Lee; and daughter, Sandra Jean Lee.

Lonnie Mae “Granny” leaves to cherish her memory: her loving granddaughter, Alicia Lee-Walker “Nikki” (Robert); great-grandson, Kameron Ray (Beyonka); great-granddaughter, Angel Walker; great-great-granddaughter, Aylani Ray; nieces, Cynthia and Tonya Lee, Shirley (Greg), and Lucy (Frank); nephew, Henry Lee; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, other family, friends, and also family in New Jersey.
