Obituary

Celebration of a Life Remembered!
Early Life
Louise was born to the parentage of Mr. Joseph Alec Clark and Mrs. Mae Bell Benthone-Clark on Friday, December 3, 1954, the 337th day of the year in Hollywood, Florida. Louise was the third child of four siblings. As a child, she attended Greater Gibbs Chapel AME Church in North Miami Beach, Florida (Washington Park). Louise was a beautiful and awesome child. She always loved teaching her dolls, writing, and reading. Lousie also enjoyed hanging out with her siblings: Emerald, Joseph, and Ellen. What a wonderful childhood they experienced in Washington Park!
Education
Louise was a true product of Miami-Dade County public schools. She attended the following schools: Rainbow Park Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Middle, and North Miami Senior High. Louise decided to extend her educational journey by attending Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. After receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Bethune-Cookman College, Louise accepted employment with Miami-Dade County public school, where she demonstrated her exemplary pedagogy at the following schools: Bunche Park Elementary, Miami Shores Elementary, Van E. Blanton Elementary, and Miami Park
Elementary (as a Guidance Counselor). During this tutelage, Louise earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. Louise also completed courses in Guidance and Counseling which she immensely enjoyed. After 35 years of working, she retireed from Miami-Dade County public schools. Louise loved working with children.
Recent Life
Throughout the years, Louise loved life. One of her pastimes was watching westerns and old sitcoms. She also enjoyed many events with her friends and family. During an outing with friends in November of 1978, Louise met Mr. Edward Young, Jr. They dated for approximately two years. On August 2, 1980, they wed and began their married life together – a wonderful and amazing journey that would last for 45 years! To that union, two sons, Mr. Edward Young III, and Mr. Dorman J. Young completed Louise’s
and Edward’s lives. Louise was a dedicated mother and always did the very best for her sons.
Louise loved the Lord. She decided to join St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in July of 2021 to worship with Edward. Louise and Edward were devoted members of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
A few years ago, Louise’s health began to decline. She was very strong during this difficult time. Louise continued to hold on to God, Edward, her family, and friends. Louse Carol Clark-Young, 68, transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, April 24, 2023, with her devoted husband, Edward H. Young, Jr., by her side.
Honoring Louise’s memory, she will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mr. Edward H. Young, Jr.; sons, Edward H. Young III and Dorman J. Young; siblings, Emerald B. Tiggett, Joseph B. Clark (Joann), and Ellen M. Clark; grandchildren, Brittney, Dormain, and Desmond; brother-in-law, Anthony Young (Betty); sister-in-law, Gloria Young; nephews, Arcolia B. Tiggett, Eugene Walton (Rashonda), Charlton (Carolyn), and Eugene Young, Jr. (Mahogany); and nieces, Indra Young, Sherry Tiggett, and Tammy Walton.
