Obituary

A Time to be Born:
Lucille was born on September 03, 1951, in Miami, FL, to Charles Douglas Hall and Delores Hall. She was the firstborn from their union, and her presence brought light and joy to their lives. Lucille attended Dunbar/Vena Vista Elementary and Robert Eli High School. After graduation, she pursued vocational training at Dorcy. In the 70s, Lucille met the love of her life, James Chatfield, and two years later, they embarked on a journey of love, commitment, and raising a beautiful family together. They were blessed with ten children: Esther, Andrew, Sajous, Krystle, Cedrick, Antonio, late Daryl, Mark, Karin, and Carlos. Their home was a sanctuary of love, always open to family and friends in need.

A Time to Live:
Lucille's purpose in life became clear as she dedicated herself to helping others and advocating for the independence of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For many years, she worked at MacTown, where she made a profound impact on the lives of those she served. Later, she joined the Haven Center, where she continued to drive and support mentally challenged children. In a change of direction, Lucille became a driver for the City of North Miami Beach, where she transported elderly residents to various stores and shops, bringing joy and companionship to their lives. Simultaneously, she provided transportation services to passengers at Miami International Airport, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Lucille’s faith in God was unwavering. From a young age, she understood that true joy and purpose could only be found through a relationship with Jesus Christ. She became a dedicated member of St. City Church of God under the leadership of Bishop J.P. Jenkins. Lucille's Sundays were devoted to her church family, starting with Bible study in the morning, teaching Sunday school, attending church service, and returning for the night service. Her commitment to spreading the good news of the Lord was evident in her role as an evangelist, delivering powerful and moving sermons throughout South Florida. But Lucille's love and generosity didn't stop at the church doors. Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where she welcomed everyone with open arms and delicious food. Her mac and cheese and sweet potato pie were legendary, and no holiday was complete without a plate of her heartwarming creations.

A Time to Mourn:
She is called home to join her loving and dedicated husband, James Chatfield Sr., mother in-law: Katherine Chatfield, her sister Rebecca (Becky) Hall, her daughter Karin, and her Darryl, Mark.

Lucille is survived by her loving mother: Delores Hall, her sisters and brothers, Sylvia (James), Norman, Alphonso (Anita), Randle, and George. Her children, Esther (Rev Carl), Andrew (Ketelie), Sajous (Angel), Krystle (Greg), Cedrick, and Antonio. Her grandchildren, Danielle (Darius), Lamont, Merkevia, Andrew Jr, Emelia, Britney, Sajous Jr. Devin, Danny, Xavier, Nathaniel, Hazel, Suriya, Kaylee, Kai, Antonio Jr., Antonia, Josiah, great grandchildren: Sarai, Zoe, and Lamont Green Ill "3J" and whole host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends. As we bid farewell to Lucille, let us remember her as a woman of faith, resilience, and boundless love. Let us carry her spirit of compassion and generosity in our hearts as we continue our own journeys. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
