Obituary

Mrs. Maryanne Marie Stokes Philius was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Willie Mack and Louetta Stokes. She attended schools in the Chatham County district and after 12th grade graduation, she attended Job Corp.

Mary had her first child at the age of 27, a baby girl, named Tanesha Marie Golden. When Lil’ Ne Ne was five, Mary took her daughter and relocated to Miami, Florida. While there, she met, fell in love with, and married Louidor Philius. From this union, she had her son, Louidor Golden, and a year and a half later, she had one more son, Dorlis Philius.

Maryanne was a fun loving person and really enjoyed playing and singing to her old school records. She enjoyed raising her family and had a passion for numbers. That passion lead her into cashiering for many years and retired from Jackson Memorial as their top cash handler.

On April 16, 2024, she entered her eternal rest, preceded by her father, Mack; mother, Louetta, and two sisters, Patricia and Shirley.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Louidor Philius; daughter, Tanesha Bacon (Frank, Sr.); sons, Louidor Golden and Dorlis Philius; stepson, Dorvilus Philius; sister, Fannie Stokes; brothers, Reverend Jerome Stokes (Delores) and Bill Stokes (Rochelle); aunt, Evelyn Walker; six granddaughters, Naziah and Zarria Bacon, Lauren and Leyah Golden, London Louis, and Ashley Philius; grandson, Frank Bacon, Jr.; great-grandson, Jaylen Deloach, Jr.; good friends, extended sisters, and old co-workers, and a host of relatives in the Savannah, Georgia, and Haiti.
