Obituary

On September 5, 1977, a quiet child, Maurice Odell Goa, was born to a loving couple, John Henry Goa, and Kim Octavia Walker. Maurice was the youngest of three children. Maurice spent all his childhood life playing on the streets of 47th terrace and in Liberty City. He began his early childhood education at Shadowlawn Elementary school and later attended middle school at Miami Edison Middle. After moving to Opa Locka, the year 1997 was the year in which Maurice graduated from Miami Carol City Sr. High School.

Maurice began his career providing customer service to clients while working at various call centers. However, in his latter years, he found a love for the open road and began driving trucks across America. Maurice eventually took on the role of an entrepreneur and with the support of close family and friends started the company 47 Transport LLC. Shortly afterwards, Maurice fell ill, and he lived a quiet life for the remaining days of his life spending time with his family.

The day August 9, 2012, was a special day for Maurice, because it was, the day that his only child, a son he named after his loving father, John Henry Goa II, was born. This was only fitting since as a child, Maurice shared a special bond with his pops, as he affectionately called his dad.

Although Maurice was quiet as a child, he later found his voice and would often lend the knowledge that he amassed over the years to close family and friends through deep conversations.

On, Friday, November 15, Maurice began his eternal rest.

He leaves behind to mourn: his mother, Kim Walker; sister Talesiya Goa; brother, John Lamont Goa; son, John Henry Goa II; his aunts, Suzanne Frazier (Carlo), Valerie Durant (Demetrius), Michelle Bryant (Roberto), Rebecca (the late Ulysses Walker), Lorraine (the late Frank Goa); uncle, Adam Walker; nieces, Atyana Milline, Timeya Joseph, Timara Joseph, and nephews, Timothy Joseph, Jr., and Semaj Goa; grandniece, Madisyn Louis; and grand-nephews, Terrell and Tremell Joyce; and a host of special cousins and friends.
