Obituary

On July 11, 1976, Maxine Susan Tulloch was born in Freeport, Bahamas to her parents, Douglas Tulloch and Lillian Stiff. As a child, Maxine was nicknamed, Pumpkin and she evolved into Empress later in life. She lived in Jamaica with her grandmother, Tama Dawes for a few years before moving to Miami at the age of four. Soon after her bonus mother, Marguerita Tulloch entered her life and helped raise her to become the woman she was. She attended Westview Elementary, Westview Jr. High and then graduated from Miami Central High School in 1994.
In 2000, Maxine met the love of her life, Devon Wilson and together they brought into this world, two amazing boys, Devon and Ethan. She also helped to raise her bonus daughter, Shanice. She was very family oriented.
As the ultimate caregiver, she was always there to take care of others in their time of need. She was a constant provider of spiritual upliftment. Her natural beauty, quick witted responses and stubborn nature were just some of the characteristics that made Maxine who she was. She had immeasurable talents, a great cook, creative party planner, and counselor. She was affectionately called Ms. 411, if you needed information on almost any place or thing she would be the person we would call first.
Maxine loved to learn and take on new challenges. She tried her hand in many professions, earning a license as a cosmetologist, certified nursing assistant, pharmacy tech, and early childhood educator. She also earned her Associates Degree from Miami Dade College in 2013 and then her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. She used her skills to educate her two sons, motivating them to excel to the point they both skipped grades and graduated from high school early.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Burke.
On October 23, 2023, Maxine transitioned from this life. She leaves behind: her husband, Devon; children, Devon, Ethan, and Shanice; parents, Lillian, Douglas, and Margaret; siblings, Maureen Tulloch, Fredrick Tulloch (Gwendolyn), Jennifer Tulloch, Patricia Tulloch, Mikey Tulloch, Lisa Tulloch, Barrington Tulloch, Stacy Keene (Mark), Yvette George, Denise Brown (Joseph), Andrew Morgan, Ricardo Lannaman, Tommy Thompson, and Crystal Morgan. She will also be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, countless nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
