Obituary
MC, fondly known as “Mac”, was born on January 13, 1942, in Shangaloo, Louisiana. He was the eldest son of the late Rosie Mae Ellis and LC Miller of Haynesville, Louisiana. Together they had four children: MC, JL (preceded him in death), Johnny, and Rosemary.
MC attended Woodson High School, where he expressed interest in football. He enjoyed working with his hands on woodwork, repairing and maintaining his own vehicle, and fishing.
MC moved to Miami, Florida, in 1963. It was there where he met his wife, Ollie Bell Rumph in 1965. They then married on September 19, 1967. MC and Ollie then started a family, giving birth to four children, Ponnette Miller, Patricia Miller Tracey, Mary (Michelle) Miller, and April Miller, and would take a stepson, Kinnie Rumph. After retiring in January 2004 from the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital where he worked in food services, MC enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on his car, yard work, fishing, and watching sports.
He was the patriarch of his family. He was a hard worker, good listener, and a great joker, but make no mistake, he would also let you know when you got out of line. MC worked tirelessly until his illness in 2006. He fought a good fight until his demise and was called home on June 6, 2023, at the Unity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Miami, Florida.
MC leaves behind his wife, Ollie Bell Miller; four daughters, Ponnette Miller (Moses Jackson), Patricia Miller Tracey (Everton Tracey), Mary Michelle Miller, and April Miller; one stepson, Kinnie Rumph; brother, Johnny Miller; sister, Rosemary Amos; sisters-in-law, Catherine Farrior and Linda Miller; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; aunts, Mary Gladys and Verdie Mae; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved family.
