Obituary

Mrs. Ora Ramsey-Morgan, of Miami, Florida, passed away on June 14, 2024.

Mrs. Ora Ramsey-Morgan, affectionally called “Bae,” was born on December 21, 1930, to Mr. Andrew and Stella Ramsey (Deceased) in Uniontown Alabama. After graduating from high school, she moved to Miami, Florida, with her first husband, Mr. James Collins (deceased).

While living in Miami, Ora met and married the love of her life, Mr. Norris (Ned) Morgan (deceased). Ora and Norris went on to adopt one child, Mr. Andre Morgan. Ora was preceded in death by three older siblings.

Ora’s journey was beautifully captured, beginning at her roots in Alabama, to building a vibrant life in Miami. Ora demonstrated resilience and adaptability even after she was wheelchair-bound. She was a faithful Bible Baptist Church of Miami, Florida, member for over forty years. In her spare time, she taught bible study and was a babysitter for many children. Her role as a church mother is lovingly emphasized, sharing qualities of unconditional love, strength, and generosity that extend beyond her immediate family to encompass a wide network of loved ones. Ora worked for fifteen years as a secretary for Deltona Real Estate Agency. In 1993, Ora retired and spent her time working for the Lord.

Ora leaves to mourn: her caregiver and niece (who became like a daughter), Ms. Ada Ramsey-Cooper; loving nephew, Mr. Walter Ramsey, who also contributed and participated in her care; special friend/roommate, Ms. Gladys Ramsey-Gibson; goddaughter, Angel Wilson; church member, Sister Reddick; a host of other family and friends.
