Obituary

The book of life opened for Patricia Curry Mingo on November 9, 1953, in Opa-Locka, Florida, to Willie C. Curry, Sr., and Rosa Lee Payne.

Pat was a product of the Miami-Dade School System. She attended North Dade Jr. High and graduated from Miami Norland Sr. High School in 1971.

Pat was also blessed to have had in her life a loving and kind stepmother, Betty Rose McMillian,

On August 27, 1972, Pat married the love of her life, her neighborhood sweetheart, Nathaniel Mingo, Sr. They shared many wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three children. Pat accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Albert Jones. She dedicated her life to Christ and was a Kingdom-driven servant committed to doing what was right in the sight of God.

Pat was full of encouragement and cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She had a sincere heart and was soft-spoken. Her hospitable spirit will be remembered fondly. Pat was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and auntie. She loved her Lord and Savior, the risen Christ with all her heart; and she loved her pastor, Reverend Bernard Lang. She was full of vibrant praises and she always gave God the glory for every accomplishment in her life. One of her favorite phrases was, “thank God for Jesus.”

On July 18, 2023 Patricia Curry Mingo was called to glory to be with the Lord  and her Father Willie  C. Curry Sr., Mother Rose Lee Payne, Husband Nathaniel Mingo Sr. a loving stepmother Betty Rose McMillian, two stepbrothers, Frank and Carl McMillian, who all proceded her in death.

Pat leaves to cherish loving memories: one son, Nathaniel Jr.; two daughters, Trinette and Tronette; four grandchildren, Marcellus, Mia, Mikey, and Damari; two brothers, Willie C. Curry, Jr., (Deannie) and William Daniel Curry; two sisters, Gloria J. Lyons and Sandra L. Fluellyn; one stepbrother, Tyrone Sims of Enigma, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice (Fareed) Hassanai and Julia McMillian; two brothers-in-law, Larry Mingo and Milton (Zona) Mingo; one aunt, Elizabeth Pitts of Pompano Beach, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
