Obituary
Prescilla Present Foote was born on December 8, 1959, in Macon, Georgia, to the parents of Jeanette Taylor and the late Norman Preston.
Prescilla, better known as “Cilla” or “Country Slim,” grew up in the over town area where she attended Miami Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1977. She furthered her education by enrolling into Miami Dade Community College. After attending college, Prescilla enlisted into the US Army in 1980 with her sister/best friend, Kim Stanley.
While in the military, she met her late husband, Glenn M. Foote, with whom she shared two kids, Brandon S. Foote and Sentora M. Foote (Jazzy). Prescilla’s tour in the US Army ended in 1989 when she moved on with her unique journey in life to Atlanta, Georgia, for several years, followed by her relocating to Miami, Florida, where she was employed by Agape Women’s Center in Princeton, Florida.
While working for the women’s center, she earned her degree in grief counseling. In the early nineties, Prescilla gave her life to Christ, and she blessed with her third child, Norman D. Russ, in 1997.
Prescilla moved on to work for Miami-Dade Aviation Department. After her tenure with the Aviation Department, she moved on to the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. Prescilla rededicated her life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 2012. She became a member of New Way Fellowship Praise and Worship Center. In 2016, she was promoted to a leadership position as a bus traffic controller until her demise.
On March 5, 2024, at 1551 hours, after her courageous flight, Prescilla Foote departed from this life to be with the Lord. Prescilla will be missed by all who loved her. She was known for her upbeat personality which ignited positivity in others. She was cheerful, optimistic, bright, and loved to laugh.
Prescilla lived her life to the fullest, traveling the world with her family and friends.
Prescilla leaves fond memories to be cherished by her one daughter, Sentora M. Foote; one son-in-law, Demetrius Brown; three granddaughters, Amora N. Foote, Zuri L. Brown, and Melani B. Brown; two sons, Brandon S. Foote and Norman D.
