Obituary

Samuel Ohara Floyd was born on March 15, 1962, to the late Mary Francis Floyd and the late Samuel Daniel Floyd. He was raised in Opa-Locka, Florida, where he attended Bunche Park Elementry, North Dade Middle, and Norland Senior High School. On March 16, 2025, around 1:00 AM, God sent his angels to bring Samuel home.

Samuel was employed as a International Long Shoreman. He was a member of the Local Union 1416.He dedicated 36 years of service before he retired on November 8, 2013.

Samuel met his soulmate, Patrica Butler, in 1984. One child was born to the union. The two committed to each other on June 30, 1997. The two raised three children together. Samuel was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Samuel loved to fish and travel. Samuel had a passion for bikes and cars. Through all the obstacles life brought upon Samuel, he fought and never let his sickness get in the way of him living life to the fullest. He was a strong man and provider. He always encouraged people to do better in life. Samuel was known for speaking his mind.

To cherish his life memories, he leaves his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Floyd; one dauther, Shanika Floyd; two stepsons, Samuel and George Hudson; two grandchildren, Destinee Floyd and Kerry Rossin, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Floyd, Calvin Floyd, Tommy Floyd, Johnny Floyd, and James Willams; one sister, Loretta Floyd; and three nephews, Theodore Sanders III, Edward Jordan, and John Coady.
