Obituary
Shalone “Scooter” Lewis was born on August 12, 1983, to Belinda Lewis and Rodney Burton and raised by loving parents Diane Holsey-Dials and Walter Dials, Jr., in Miami, Florida. Shalone attended grade school in the Miami-Dade County public schools and worked doing small handyman jobs.
Shalone was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He loved to write stories, and as time went on, he started writing music—his dream was to pursue music. Shalone loved his family dearly and knew the importance of having a relationship with God.
On August 22, 2023, the Lord called Shalone home to rest. Shalone was preceded in death by his mother, Belinda Lewis; grandmother, Naomi Lewis; uncle, Willie Lewis, Jr.; aunt, Wyomia Holsey; and cousin, Henry Carter.
Shalone leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Shalone Lewis, Jr., and Shamari Lewis; father, Rodney Burton; siblings, Chaalo Lewis, Timothy Lewis (Chyneathia), Angelo Lewis (Shanell), Lakeisha Lewis (Antoine), and Richetta Dials; aunts, Cecelia Holsey-Sharpe (Glenn), Diane Holsey-Dials (Walter Jr.), Lottie Dunlap (Michael Sr.), and Janie Pollock (Eugene); cousins, Darsha Hunt, Michael Dunlap, Jr., Devin Dunlap, Eddie Brown III, Earnest Dunlap, Lashawn Carter, Lamar Johnson (Terrica), Gaston Magwood, and Laquetta Johnson; nieces and nephews, Syria Lewis, Shamiya Lewis, Timothy Lewis, Jr., Demetrious Lewis, Kourtney Hicks, Antoine Hicks, Jr., Kayawnie Mitchell, Kani Cross, Angelo Lewis, Jr., Jahari Lewis, Jovan Roberts, Egypt Dials, Nevaeh Byron, Taurianna Gissendanner, Jamier Magwood, Anthony Peterson, and Henry Carter, Jr.; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
