Obituary
Shirley Ann Jackson was born June 30, 1947, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Albert Bernard and Stella Jackson. She was the third child of six siblings.
Shirley Jackson met and married Loron Perry in 1971, and to this union two children were born: Tiffany Perry Davis and Loron Perry, Jr., both of Miami, Florida.
Shirley started her teaching career in 1979. She received her Associate Degree from Miami Dade New Would Campus; Bachelor's Degree from Florida Memorial University; and Master's Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Shirley taught at Orchard Villa Elementary for over thirty-five years, until her retirement in 2014.
Shirley accepted Christ at an early age. On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Shirley was called home to be with the Lord from Hialeah Hospital. She was a woman of strength, dignity, and pride, very strong-willed and full of courage. She was a sister, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was full of love for the Lord, her children, and family. She will always be remembered for her goodness and kind heart, and she always wanted to give and support everyone to ensure happiness.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Otis; grandson, Paul E. Royal; and brothers-in-law, Randolph Close and Dennis Thornton.
She leaves to mourn: one cherished daughter, Tiffany (Damion); one beloved son, Loron (LaToya); one stepdaughter, Marilyn Davis; one stepson, Terry Perry; five grandchildren, Denzel Brown, Katia Perry, Destiny Davis, Amia Harrison, and Loron Perry III; three great-grandchildren, K'Rondis Larry, Sanai Mellerson, and Londynn Neal; three sisters, Betty Knight (James), Marvel Close of Bainbridge, GA, and Sanatone Thornton of Columbus, GA; four special brothers, Jimmy Akins (Claudia), Willie Jackson (Tammy), Robert Jackson, and Chester Holley (Sandra); honorary son, James E. Johnson, Jr.; honorary grandsons, Ranell Hall and Taurus Dodson, Jr.; devoted friends, Patricia LaSane (Henry), Nancy Yates, Maderia Williams (Lee), Glenda Foster, and Orgeline Smith; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-christ, and other relatives whom were truly loved and adored.
A special thanks to Tencie McClain, for your unwavering support and love of regularly being there daily to assist in her care.
