Obituary

Sister Zema Rometra Johnson was born on April 11, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Leroy Homer Johnson and Annie Jewel Johnson. She resided in Miami, Florida, where she later graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School and received her diploma.

She started her career with MDPS as a nutrition specialist. She then furthered her career with Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation, where she later transferred into the Corrections Department, which is from where she later retired. She then ventured into opening her own commercial cleaning services company.

As time passed, Sister Johnson became ill, but still pressed on until she could no longer go, so God whispered in her ear that it was time.

She leaves behind her three children to cherish her memories: her oldest, Danielle Tamera Williams; son, Jahmalon Allen Bethel; and her last baby girl, Tapanga Ariel Bethel; two sisters, Sheila Johnson and Priscilla Johnson; two brothers, Leroy Johnson, Jr., and Ulysses Johnson; she also leaves behind a good friend and father of her oldest daughter, Danny Williams; oldest niece, Amari Johnson; nephews, Daequan Johnson, Ulysses Jacob Johnson, and Khoury Johnson; great-niece and nephew, Zian and Ziah Rahmings; and a host of aunts, cousins, and friends who will truly miss and love her forever.

I will forever cherish the memories of visits from Miami and Jacksonville. We surely had lots of good times. Rest in peace cousin until I see you again. To the rest of my family, know that everyday isn't going to be easy without her physically here but She lives on spiritually. Make her proud!
