Obituary
Tracey-Ann Alecia Smith was born to Herbert and Delores Smith on November 3, 1982, in Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies. At the tender age of five, she attended Washington Primary School in Lionel Town. In April 1989, at the age of six, she relocated to New York with her mother, Delores Smith, and two brothers, Donville and Oliver, to live with her aunt, Judith Douglas. While there, she attended PS61 in Brooklyn, New York.
In January 1991, Tracey relocated to Florida and attended Parkway Elementary School. Shortly after, she started attending The Church of God of Prophecy Miami No. 1, where she accepted the Lord as her Savior. She was baptized and became a member of the youth choir and the praise dance ministry team under the leadership of Sister Rosemarie Brennon.
Tracey continued her education at Miami Norland Middle School and then attended Miami Norland Senior High School, graduating in 2001. After high school, she attended Miami Dade College and later received her associate degree from Broward College.
In November 2001, Tracey met Andre Spencer. In September 2004, they welcomed their first son, Jayden Spencer. Tracey and Andre married on July 23, 2005. While balancing being a new wife and mother, Tracey applied to the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office and was hired in December of 2005 as a legal secretary I. In May 2010, Tracey and Andre welcomed their second son, Brayden Spencer. Tracey managed to complete her degree and moved up the ranks at the state attorney’s office, working as a legal secretary III in the economic crime unit from 2016 to May 2023, when she took ill.
Tracey was a dedicated wife and mother, balancing church, work, and friendships. She had a great passion for fashion and shopping, excelling at finding fashion deals both online and in stores. Tracey lived an amazing life and was loved by her family, church family, school, and work friends. She will be missed by all.
Tracey leaves behind to cherish her memory: her parents, Herbert and Delores Smith; husband, Andre; sons, Jayden and Brayden; brothers, Donville(Rashaan), Oliver (Tasha), Donneil (Emely), Christopher (Royale), O’Neil (Nikki), and Easton; four nieces; eight nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and church family.
Tracey’s life was a testament to love, dedication, fun, and faith. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
We love you Tracey! May your soul rest in peace!
