Obituary
Vinnie Pearl Thomas was born on October 9, 1940, to the late Harvey and Estoria Cooper, in Eastman, Georgia. She was the sixth of their ten children. Vinnie Pearl attended Lisbon High School in Dodge County, Georgia, before the family relocated to Miami, Florida. After the family relocated, she met and married Nathaniel “Jimmy” Thomas, Sr., who preceded her in death. Three children were born of their union, Sylvia, Nathaniel Jr. and Juliette. Her youngest child, Juliette, and her grandson, Santana Harris, also preceded her in death.
After relocating to Miami, Vinnie Pearl worked at Toby’s and the Miami Jai-Alai. Vinnie Pearl would light up any room with her smile and laugh. She was known to cut a rug on the dance floor too!
Vinnie leaves behind: one daughter, Sylvia Thomas; one son, Nathaniel Thomas (Lillie Ruth); three sisters, Katrina Sangster, Verdell Harrell, and Willie Ray Perez; eight grandsons, Earl McGowan, Shamode Thomas
(Tiffany), Clevan Thomas (Yada), Phillip Thomas, Alade Thomas, Tony Thomas (Klassi), Kwame Thomas, (Latravia), and Javares Thomas; seven granddaughters, Santrica Thomas, Tyiesha Thomas (Arthur), Danika
Thomas (Demarlo), Dominique Thomas, Farrah Thomas, Natasha Thomas, and Nicole Thomas; 35 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
