Obituary
Vivian Marie Wilson Knowles was born on August 26, 1936, in Savannah, Georgia, to the proud parents, Rannie and Lucille Wilson. She was the second of three children. In 1949, Vivian and her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where she received her education through Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Vivian dedicated over thirty years of faithful service to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she earned numerous recognitions for her commitment and excellence.
At an early age, Vivian gave her life to Christ and became a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Samuel Atchison. For over forty years, she faithfully served as a member of the Usher Board and the Atchison Special Choir.
Twenty years ago, Vivian transitioned her membership to Logos Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Keith Butler, where she became one of the founding members and was affectionately known as "Queen Knowles." For the last two years, Vivian served under the leadership of Robert Stephens III. Vivian served diligently as the Lead Greeter, a role she carried out with pride and warmth. Additionally, she was an active member of the Pastor's Care Ministry, lead member of the New Member ministry and she later became an honorary member of the Victory Care Ministry. Vivian was always willing to serve wherever she was needed, exemplifying true dedication to her church and community.
Vivian was known for her heart of gold. She was loving, kind, and deeply devoted to her family. She especially adored her grandchildren and found great joy in cooking for them-her peach cobbler and deviled eggs were family favorites that will always be remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rannie Wilson and Lucille Wilson- Hathaway; her stepfather, Roosevelt Hathaway; brother, Eugene Nelson; and her beloved son, Charles Knowles. On April 23, 2026, Vivian answered her Savior's call and gently took His hand. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Andre Knowles, Charlotte Jenies, Kelvin Knowles, Gail Boyd, and Gary Boyd; her cherished grandchildren: Tramesa Akins (LaToriaum, Sr.), Trakia, Ebony, Verlantis, Ajara, Jerrell, Alphaeus, Lavotia, Myia, Matthew, Isaiah, Clinton, and Tenielle; twelve great-grandchildren; one loving and devoted sister, Bernice McCrae; a special cousin Wilhelmina Carter, and a host ofrelatives, friends, church family, and neighbors. Vivian's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
