Obituary

On August 25, 1961, a baby boy named Walter James Fair Jr was born to Walter Fair Sr and the late Eva Mae (Green) Fair.

During his early years, his family migrated from Chatham, Georgia to Miami Gardens, Florida where he received his early childhood education from the Miami Dade County Public School system. Walter graduated and became a proud alumnus of Hialeah Miami Lakes in 1979. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Armed Forces – Army Division.

After being Honorably discharged from serving in the US Army, he met and married Marie Saget in Aug of 1982, during which time 2 children were born: Waltrice “Ayesha” (Fair) Glaze & Dee-Andra Fair. He added to his family later and there was born Shameka Pinckney (Shawn).

During his given time here, he was privileged to work throughout Miami-Dade county with Clean Image Cleaning Service, Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Veterans Hospital, Chapman Partnership, CMB Visions and as everyone knew - he loved to work as a personal shopper with Instacart.

During his employment with Clean Image at South Miami Hospital, he met and married his best friend and love Melody Fair on May 21, 2016 and remained married until his untimely transition. During those 8 years, no children were born but he acquired five step-children and a special granddaughter.

If you knew Walter then you knew he loved fishing and his favorite NFL Team was The Las Vegas Raiders..

Benefiting from the guidance of prayer, Walter accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He accepted the assignment of Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Kay Dawson & Bishop Elect Melvin Dawson of Cathedral of Praise ICFM Miami. Some time after, he moved his membership along with his wife where she accepted assignment of the Assistant Pastor of LightHouse for Jesus Inc. of Homestead under the leadership of Sr Pastor Walter Horn & Executive Pastor Charlotte Horn, where he last attended.

Walter was called home to glory on May 9, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother Eva Mae (Green) Fair.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his father Walter Fair Sr.; his wife Melody Fair; his children: Waltrice Glaze (Eric Glaze), Dee-Andra Fair, and Shameka Pinckney, Khadijah Tompkins, Rahsaan Smith, Mekaylah Brown, Sariah Bartley, and Shakeem Bartley; Grandchildren: Djahney Jones, Devon Jones, Taj Jones, Dee-toria Williams, Deondre Fair-Williams, Malik Williams, Maraiya Fair-Williams, Demyra Pierce, Serenity Pierce and Devonte Pierce Jr., Sierra Davis; Siblings: Stephanie Fair, Sabrina Fair, James Fair, Sandra Jones (Cecil Jones) and Steven Fair (Harriett Fair); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
