Obituary
Mr. Willie Shephard was born on March 24, 1930 in Birmingham, AL. He was the light of his mother’s eye, Nell Washington. Willie never forgot his roots and would attend his class reunions, recapturing fond memories at Roosevelt High School in Birmingham, AL. “Shep” as he was affectionately called by friends, served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Afterwards, he was employed with the Veterans Hospital in Miami for more than 30 years as a Dialysis Technician. He was also employed with Broward schools for a brief time at Hollywood Hills Elementary School.
As fate would have it, he met and fell in love with his Queen Lillie and to this union, a precious baby girl, Tonya, was born. Their love extended to all of their children as they created a loving blended family.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted daughter, Tonya; Pamela (Barry) Knowles and Pastor Avery (Abertha) Jones; two daughters, which preceded him in death, Lavern and Patrice; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
