Obituary
Willie Lester Brown was born on August 18, 1934, in Pine Park, GA, to the late Emma Willis Brown and Will Brown.
In his early years, Willie was educated at the first segregated school, Payne Academy, from first to fifth grade in Pine Park, GA. From there, he attended Washington School in Cairo, GA, where he graduated with honors. He proudly served for two years in the US Army.
Willie was employed by Associated Groceries for 65 years as a truck driver. He was married to the late Dorothy Brown for 47 years before her passing in 2008. Willie was an avid reader and devoted Dolphins fan. Willie was a very humble, giving, and simple person about life.
On January 22, 2026, the beloved Willie, attended by his angels and Savior, made his transition from this earthly life to earn his wings to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving daughters, Femesha Foster (Brown) and Nicole Brown; and grandson, Niro Bivins (Foster).
Additionally, he leaves behind his two nieces, Carolyn Sumner and Stephanie Wood; nephew, Michael Taylor; and a host of godchildren, Julie Brown, Jordan McTaw, Isaiah Wooten, and Jeffery Brown.
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longer for his appearing.” Amen. – II Timothy 4:6-8
