Obituary

Willie Pearl Rodgers, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at the age of 90, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 30, 1934, in Perote, Alabama, to the late Charlie Faniel and Argulia Faulk-Faniel.
 
Willie Pearl’s life was marked by her deep faith in Christ and unwavering love for her family. Known for her warm smile, generous heart, and her wit, Willie Pearl devoted her life to raising her children, nurturing her grandchildren, and providing support to anyone in need. Her love for the Lord and her compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
 
Willie Pearl was a hard worker, as she worked for K-Mart Corp and Miami-Dade County School Board until she retired in 1975.
 
In addition to her many contributions to others, Willie Pearl was a master cook, known for her delicious southern dishes. Family gatherings were always a joyous occasion, and her home was a welcoming place for all who entered.
 
Wille Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Argulia; husband, Arthur Rodgers; daughter, Josephine Chapman; and siblings, Artha Mae, Betty, Jessie Kate, Gurtha (Marie), Rosie Lee, Susie Pearl, Lucy, Robert, and Alphonso.
 
Willie Pearl will be missed by her children, Arthur Rodgers (Eun Suk), Bobby Rodgers, Shirley Neal, Philip Rodgers, and Ernest Rodgers; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Jerry Faniel (Mozelle) and Freddie Caviness; goddaughter, Gloria Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Willie Pearl Rodgers will be remembered as a woman of grace, strength, and compassion—her legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
