Obituary
Willie Thea Taylor was born on August 27, 1938, in Madison, Florida, to the late Albert and Julia Mae Taylor. To this union, seven children were born: three boys and four girls
– Albert Taylor, Jr., Elzada Strachan, Angus Taylor, Jeanetha Taylor, Eddie Taylor; all have preceded her in death. She leaves one surviving sister, Louise Rozier.
Willie received her education in the Miami-Dade School System. She attended Liberty City Elementary, D.A. Dorsey Middle/High School, and Miami Northwestern Sr. High School C/O 1956.
On July 11, 1958, Willie married Robert Bradley, who preceded her in death. Willie and Robert created a beautiful family together, Victoria Louise, Ronald Jose, and Richard Artis Bradley. Ronald and Richard Bradley both preceded her in death.
Together, Willie and Robert established Bradley Roofing Company; a well respected Black owned company in our community.
Willie worked as a nursing assistant at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mercy Hospital, where she retired in 1986.
Willie was blessed with God’s gift of love for children. It takes a village to raise a child, and she used her gift as our Matriarch and caregiver for each generation of children in our village. She instilled love, spirituality, and discipline into every child she helped raise. She often told us all that “God only upholds the Truth.”
Willie was a member of the International Free and Accepted Masons, Daughter Fannie Simmons Chapter No. 198. She was Chosen Queen of this Chapter in 1976.
Willie gave her life to Christ at a very young age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Liberty City under Reverend O.W. Foster. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Antioch. Willie served for many years as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, YPD Leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Nurses Guild member. She directed many amazing and memorable Easter and Christmas pageants for many years at Antioch. This was a true passion of hers, to bring the stories of Christ into our lives in a way only she could.
On September 11, 2023, God decided to bring our Matriarch home to rest safely in his arms. She will be missed dearly but we’ll cherish our many lovely memories of her, forever.
Willie Bradley leaves to cherish her legacy of love: daughter, Victoria Robinson; grandkids, Trenese Thompson (Michael Jovan), Louis Robinson, Jr. (Montez), Jose Bradley, Kourtney Roberts (Corinthian), Gerard Ritter, Shantaun Blue, Armari Blue, Shatavia Blue, and Adonis Bradley; great-grandkids, M’Chaela, Trenton, Darrington, Victor and Trista Thompson, Louis Robinson III, and Samyia Blue; sister, Louise Rozier; sisters-in-law, Barbara Brinson (Clarence) and Hattie Mae Garland; godchildren, Constance Smith, Wanda Parker, Selena Colston, Dashun Boykins, Laurice Jennings, and James Marshall; godsisters, Velma Parker and Brenda Smith; best friend, Mrs. Gail Perry; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom so lovingly called her “Aunt Willie.” She left you all to cherish your memories of your own personal conversations with her of God’s goodness and His faithfulness.
