Yvonne Caleb was born on July 10, 1938, in Greensville, South Carolina. Yvonne’s grandparents and parents (The Atkins Family) were instrumental in her rearing. At an early age, Yvonne accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with her family and was a prominent member of her church. Yvonne was educated in the Greensville County Public Schools System. She graduated from Florida Memorial University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education. Soon after, she began teaching at Miami Springs Elementary School. Her love and passion for educating children was infectious. Yvonne’s teaching career spanned over 30 years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Yvonne was extremely close to her family. Family was one of the treasures of her life until her death. She was involved in many family activities. Yvonne was a shy woman with a powerful presence.
