Obituary
Barbara Jean Hampton Miller, beloved daughter of Theodore Hampton and Roberta Johnson Hampton, began her first chapter of life on October 9, 1956. She was a lifelong resident of Greenville, Florida.
Preceding Barbara in death were both parents; her son: Jerry “Rooster” Miller; brothers: Theodore Hampton III, Henry Hampton, Willie B. Hampton, Jimmy Hampton, Melvin Hampton, James Hampton; and sister: Classie Mae Hampton Williams.
Barbara accepted Christ as her Savior and lived to honor Him in spirit and in truth. She allowed her love for Him be evident in the way she interacted with others; she always empowered them with love, optimism, and encouragement.
Barbara was truly a phenomenal mother and grandmother, who demonstrated Christian values of kindness while showing compassion and sharing her love to make each one feel extra special.
The impact of her love for children was appreciated during her nearly 25 years of dedicated service as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional in the Madison County School System.
A chapter ended; a page turned...Barbara Jean Hampton Miller completed her assignment on earth and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2023...a life well lived; a rest well earned.
It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. The loved ones of Barbara Jean Hampton Miller will truly miss her and forever honor her in their memory, especially her daughter: Latorya (Andy) Miller-Bruton; son: Lorenzo Miller; goddaughter: Briana Hodge; sisters: Theola Gallon, Pearlie Sales, Helen Cuyler, Deloise (Matt) Groover; six grandchildren; special caregiver: Marcell Jones; and a host of sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
