Obituary
Bud Elmore Demps, Sr., the son of James Clarence Demps and Ora Lee Vincent Demps, was born on April 8, 1953. He grew up with his large family of siblings and under the watchful eyes of their parents and his village who helped him learn the importance of having integrity, a love of family, a strong work ethic, and positive relationships with others. A lifelong resident of Greenville, FL, Bud was affectionately known as “Uncle Bud” by most.
Bud confessed his belief in Jesus Christ and became a member of Kingdom Ministries Church of Greenville. He loved learning more about the “Word” of God by attending church with other believers who strengthened his faith in the Lord.
Because of the work ethic he developed early in life, Bud loved to work in the logging industry and did so for many years. He was a good provider, who also knew how to control his earnings to the point of being described as “tight with his dollars.”
Uncle Bud was fun-loving and loved to joke and clown around because it made everyone’s day a little brighter. He also enjoyed socializing with the ladies who also enjoyed his companionship. However, during his leisure time, he loved to cook greens, watch westerns (especially “Gunsmoke”) but he primarily enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Bud Elmore Demps, Sr. crossed from this walk of life to receive his eternal reward and to be at rest. He is gone from his loved ones’ sight but will not be forgotten.
The spirit of Bud Elmore Demps, Sr. lives on in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. Celebrating his well lived life are his devoted sons: Bud Demps, Jr. of Greenville, FL and Allen (Renee) Demps of Madison, FL; dutiful daughters: Darlene (Gavin) Demps-Burch of Jacksonville, FL and Brittney Moore of Tallahassee, FL; loving brother:
