Obituary

Damon Cobb, Jr., the beloved son of Damon Cobb, Sr. and Sandra Lane Cobb, was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Mane.” Although he was raised and resided in Perry, Florida, he also had deep family ties in the Greenville (Madison County), Florida community. He was a 2001 graduate of Taylor County High School.

Known to be outgoing and outspoken, Mane did not hesitate in letting others know how he felt, but was quick to express his fondness for them by saying, “I love you…” Most of all, he was a family man who lovingly protected his children, was unquestionably his brother’s keeper, and who proved his unconditional love for them all.

Mane was a relationship builder who loved his family and cherished their spending as much quality time together as possible – holiday get togethers, special occasions, “just because” visits, as well as daily phone calls. He loved to dance and entertain, which made any event fun and memorable. He kept everyone laughing with his sense of humor, and he dazzled them with his “dressed to the nines” attire featuring his classic red and lots of “bling.”

On the serious side, Mane had a natural talent for carpentry. He loved to build and/or put things together. His first jobs were with carpenters /construction crews, who provided him with opportunities to sharpen his skills. Because of his dependability and expertise, he was a “Mr. Fix It” for family and neighbors, for he could be counted on to take care of their repairs. His was employed as a box builder at American Aluminum.

Almighty God, according to His divine will and purpose, sent an angel to guide Damon Cobb, Jr. into His eternal glory on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Mane will be joyfully praise dancing with the angels throughout eternity. Someone this special can never be forgotten, because when you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.

Holding close to their hearts the forever memories that bind them together as family and whose loved ones who will continue to honor Damon Cobb, Jr.’s precious memory are his parents: Damon Cobb, Sr. and Sandra Lane Cobb of Perry, FL; children: Talan Pitts and Aaliyah Cobb, both of Perry, FL; sisters: Yolanda (Jerome) Clayton of Perry, FL; Nicole (Johnny) Morris of Madison, FL; Julia (favorite brother-in-law, Freddie/“Freddie Frog”) Flowers, April Cobb, and Jamey Inman, all of Perry, FL; favorite cousins: Bud Demps, Jr. and Johnny Williams, Jr.,  both of Greenville, FL; along with comforting aunts, caring uncles, concerned cousins, loving nieces, consoling nephews, and supportive friends.

Preceding Damon Cobb, Jr. in death were his brothers-in-law: Wallace Mitchell and Lee Inman.
