Obituary
Horation Fead Sr., affectionately known as “Peter,” was the son of Aniecia L. Haynes and Jimmy Fead Jr. Born on April 18, 1976, he was raised in the close-knit family community better known as Haynesville in Madison County, Florida. He was nurtured by his loving family / village of staunch supporters who shaped his character and values – his mother, bonus father, Robert Jones, grandparents, James B. and Sarah Jones Haynes, Sr. and Jimmie and Virginia Fead, as well as his beloved great-grandmother, Debta B. Haynes, all who have preceded him in death.
Peter’s faith journey began at an early age when he gave his life to Christ and became a member of the Haynes family church, St. Thomas AME Church in Madison, Florida. He lived his faith as a living testament to God’s love and grace throughout his life.
A proud Madison County High School (MCHS) graduate, Peter excelled academically and athletically. He was a standout football player who earned recognition for his remarkable athletic abilities, and he left an indelible mark of teamwork achievement on his MCHS Cowboy teammates.
After high school, Peter opted to pursue an employment career which led him to Gold Kist, (currently Pilgrim’s Pride). Because of his reliability, dedication, and strong work ethic, he soon earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the recognition of plant administrators who selected him as a team supervisor, a position he maintained until his retirement.
Horation Fead, Sr., having completed his purpose on earth, peacefully gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, when the God of infinite wisdom called His faithful servant home. While Peter’s loved ones’ hearts are heavy with his loss, they find solace in knowing that he is now in a better place, where joy and eternal peace abound.
Horation Fead, Sr.’ s life was a shining example of faith, love, and perseverance. Although his physical presence is no longer in his loved ones’ sight, his spirit, kindness, and countless memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories with all who were a vital part of his life. He is survived by his father: Jimmy (Teresa) Fead Sr., of Greenville, FL; son, Horation “Lil Peter” (Arkilyah) Fead Jr.; proud grandfather of Horation (H3) Fead III, Ka’haidren Fead, Ke’leiya Fead, and Harmoni Fead, all of Madison, FL; a loving father figure for bonus children: Kaden, Anthony, and Kelis, all of Valdosta, Georgia; siblings, Diamond Jones of Madison, FL, Tiffany Fead of Tallahassee, FL, Letitia Jones of Miami, FL, Valentino Jones of Madison, FL, Tavares (Tamia) Smalls of Orlando, FL, and Frederick (Leslie) Roberson of Bradenton, FL; aunts and uncles: Jerri (Dave) Haynes of Chicago, IL, Maxine (Willie) Wilson, Nyra (Marcus) Moore, and Mary Fead, all of Madison, FL, Virginia (Joseph) Jones of Greenville, FL, Ruby Crumity of Aucilla, FL, Freddie Jones of Fort Lauderdale, FL, James B.
