Obituary
James Michael Williams, Jr., affectionately known as “Meechy”, was the beloved son of James Michael Williams, Sr. and Shayon Straughter. Born on July 30, 2008, in Tallahassee, Florida, he was a resident of Madison, Florida.
Meechy had a big heart and possessed a radiant smile. He loved to make others laugh with his amusement / sense of humor. He was also a typical teenager who enjoyed playing video games, dancing, and listening to music. Most of all, he loved to look good - to be “first class”.
As a student at Boot Hill, Meechy took pride in being a Madison County High School Cowboy basketball player because not only did it boost his skills, but also his self-esteem. He also supported the Cowboy football team.
The time is always right to do what is right. Throughout his life, Meechy carried with him the values of love, kindness, and connection that were instilled in him. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, James Michael Williams, Jr. transitioned from this earthly life into the arms of his Heavenly Father, where he now receives eternal rest. Though his passing leaves a deep void, we hold fast to the promise that God, through His comfort and grace, will bring healing in time.
“Those we love can never be more than a thought away, for as long as there is a memory, they live in our hearts to stay.” Gone from their sight but never from their hearts are the loved ones of Michael Williams, Jr. Cherishing his precious memory are his parents: James Michael Williams, Sr. and Shayon Straughter, both of Madison, FL; paternal grandmother: Glynis Boatman; maternal grandparents: Vickie Walters of Madison, FL and Dewayne (Sabrina) Straughter, Sr. of Greenville, FL and Marcus Jackson of Madison, FL; maternal great-grandmothers: Minnie Turner and Bertha Bentley, both of Madison, FL; brothers: Jaiden Williams and Devontae Williams, both of Madison, FL and Te'Kari Davis of Live Oak, FL; sisters: Ja'Milah Williams, A'Nyla McClough, and Ja'Kia Williams, all of Madison, FL; maternal aunts and uncles: Tyiesha Hampton, DeShayla Straughter, James Hampton, Jr., Tolerance Straughter, and DeWayne Straughter, Jr., all of Madison, FL; paternal aunts and uncles: Tiffany (Wallace) Montina and Jamie Williams, all of Jacksonville, FL, Annie Williams, Bryce Swilley, and Zacery Boatman, all of Madison FL, Bryan Williams of Tallahassee, FL, as well as a host of grieving cousins, mournful friends, and sorrowing classmates.
