Obituary
Jamira Levon Walker, Sr., affectionately known as “Jay Walk,” was born on December 26, 1988, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Ira Walker, Jr. and Teresa Rena Brown. From the values and life lessons he learned from them and other members of his village, he became a kind person with a great spirit and a heart of pure gold. He was a lifetime resident of Tallahassee, Florida.
On one hand, Jamira was quiet natured and was content to keep to himself but on the other hand, he could connect with others in a most impactful manner. He was positive and inspiring; his interaction with them was just another way for him to remind them that life should not be taken for granted and that there is so much to be thankful for.
Additionally, Jamira’s sense of duty and discipline were evident in all areas of his life. He impressed upon others the importance of having integrity as well as a work ethic. He was employed at Amazon.
Jamira received his education from the Leon County School District and was a graduate of Leon High School. He chose to begin his career rather than to further his education, but he believed in education and was a die-hard FSU fan.
Jamira loved his children and was a father to them and for them. His desire was to always provide them with the things that would grant them productive and successful lives. His legacy was to provide them with a life full of purpose, hard work, and endless love.
Jamira Levon Walker, Sr.’s earthly assignment was to be a blessing to others. However, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, he finished his task and was called to his eternal home to be at rest.
Jamira Levon Walker, Sr., is gone from his loved ones’ sight but will never depart from their hearts or their precious memories. Those who will miss him until they see him again are his parents: Ira (Mary) Walker, Jr. and Teresa Rena Brown, all of Tallahassee, FL; sons: Jamira Walker, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL and Sir Issac Moore of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughters: Jamiriyia Walker and Destiny Walker, of Tallahassee, FL; brothers: Vincent Maurice Byrd and Kevin Scott of Tallahassee, FL; sisters: Jada Walker (Brandon) and Jade Walker, all of Tallahassee, FL; paternal grandmother: Willhemina (Denard) Bass; maternal grandmother: Jessie McClenton of Phoenix, AZ; god sister: Danielle Smith; along with many other sorrowful relatives and loving friends.
Preceding Jamira Levon Walker, Sr., in death were his maternal grandmother: Eula McClenton and his paternal grandfather: Ira Walker, Sr.
