Obituary

Jeffery Jermaine Siplin, affectionately known as “Jake”/ “JJ”, was born on August 13, 1974, to Carol Turner and Jeffery Siplin. He was a much-loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and special friend who impacted everyone in his own special way. He loved his family, valued his friends, and treasured life itself.  He was a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida.

Earlier in life, Jeffery made a personal confession of his belief in Jesus Christ and was baptized by faith.

Jeffery was educated in the Madison County Public School District and was a proud 1993 graduate of Madison County High School. Afterwards, he began his career dedicated to food services at Ken’s Bar-B-Q. He was the ultimate grill master whose culinary expertise kept the diners coming back until the business closed its doors. He then acquired a position at Pilgrim’s Pride.

Jeffery was a hard worker, but he also took time for his personal enjoyment. He found tranquility and peace on the banks of his favorite fishing pond or out on the water. Because he was a fun person who loved spending quality time with his family and friends, he created the perfect atmosphere for entertainment. He also loved being strategic in challenging anyone to play a chess game. His other pastime favorite activities included playing video games, clowning around, listening to music, dancing, and for more adventure and excitement, he enjoyed watching speedway car races.

Although Jake was not blessed to have any biological children, he was a loving father-figure and coach to many neighborhood and community youth. He was available to teach, guide, and support them as much as possible.

As his health began to fail, Jeffery Jermaine Siplin’s prayer of faith made him more determined to look like “where he was going to” rather than what he was going through. On Friday, March 6, 2026, in a moment and in the twinkling of an eye, he transitioned from earthly labor to receive his eternal reward. It is well with his soul.

Jeffery Jermaine Siplin will be remembered for his laughter that could light up a room, his faithfulness that inspired many, but mostly, his good-natured personality that was felt by all. His memory will be forever embedded in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, specifically, his parents: Carol Turner and Jeffery Siplin of Madison, FL ; sisters: Salina (Willie) Williams, LaTisha (Jeremy) Johnson, Shonda Graham, and Stephanie (Devin B.) Siplin, all of Madison, FL; nephews: Sha’Quon Siplin (raised as a son) of New Orleans,LA, Damoni Brinson, Siyon Brinson, and Sevyn Brinson, all of Madison, FL; nieces: Kwantianna Bell, SaBriyah Barfield, DesTanee Smiley, and Ka’Loni McQuay, all of Madison, FL; a special friend: Janay Allen; uncles: John (Loretta) Turner of Mitchellville, MD, Raymond Turner of Lake City, FL, Calvin Turner, James Turner, Joe (Mary) Rowe, Eddie (Sandra) Rowe, Johnnie (Diane) Siplin, Jr., all of Madison, FL, and John Burns of Wildwood, FL; aunts: Nellie (Melvin) Jackson, Sophia Joseph, and Dorothy “Happy” Mitchell, all of Madison, FL; great-aunt: Clara Mae Davis of St. Petersburg, FL; faithful bonus brothers: Kenneth McQuay, Sr., Kevin Walker, Curtis “Lil Curt” Johnson, Jr., Kevin “High Top” Robinson, Sr., and Nicholas Johnson, all of Madison, FL; and a bonus son: Jacob Allen; along with many other sorrowing relatives, compassionate schoolmates, and consoling friends.
