Obituary

Kokila Poteal Williams-Fudge, the daughter of Lucious Neal and Evelyn Mills Williams, was born in Thomasville, Georgia, on April 5, 1981. Kokila’s journey on this earth was a testament to her unshakeable faith, vibrant spirit, and boundless love.

Affectionately known as “Ko-Ko,” she was a cherished member of the Gospel Spiritualettes, where her beautiful voice resonated with joy and praise. She was a songbird whose melodies uplifted and inspired all who heard them. Her deep love for the Lord was evident in every note she sang and every action she took. Kokila’s faith was profound—she was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost, a reflection of her deep spiritual commitment and divine grace.

“Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.”

Kokila’s earthly father, Lucious Neal, preceded her in death, but her spirit now rests in the comforting embrace of the Lord. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible joy and light she brought into our lives. Her laughter was infectious, her smile radiant, and her humility unparalleled. Kokila had a special affection for seafood and cherished the moments spent with family and friends. Her warm heart and generous spirit made her a beloved presence in the lives of all who knew her.

“I once was lost, but now am found; was blind, but now I see.”

Kokila’s impact as a Certified Nursing Assistant was profound. Her compassionate care and dedication touched the lives of countless individuals. She provided not just medical care, but also comfort, kindness, and a listening ear to those in need. Kokila’s patients and colleagues admired her unwavering commitment and the grace with which she performed her duties. Her legacy in the healthcare community is one of selfless service and genuine care for others.

“’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.”

In the words of Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Kokila’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember her life, we find solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace, embraced by the amazing grace of the Lord.

Kokila is gone from her loved ones’ sight but will never depart from their hearts. Those who will miss her until they meet again are her devoted husband: Jermond Daygo Fudge, children who carries forward her legacy of love, faith, and strength: Jacai Edwards, Javion Ware, Antwan (Brittany) Young, Serenity Fudge, Ah'Zori Hadley, and Janasia Hill; loving daughter: Evelyn Mills Williams; beloved siblings: Charles Barrington, Liwonda (Derrick) Plummer, Eugenia Williams, and Merelda (John) Davis; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Bishop Johnny and Sheila Fudge, as well as her dear friends raised as sisters, Apostle Katavis (Kerrick) Henry and Natara Howard. Special friends Carnisha Rowe and Portia Fudge were also treasured companions in her life; along with a host of sorrowing relatives and other loving friends.
