Obituary

Marquietta Necole Bowens-White, affectionately known as “Necole,” was born on October 4, 1970, in Tallahassee, Florida. On May 23, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom, called His beautiful daughter home to eternal rest. Though our hearts are deeply saddened by this tremendous loss, we rejoice in knowing that a remarkable woman of grace, faith, elegance, and unwavering love has received her heavenly crown.

Necole was the true definition of class, strength, and sophistication. She carried herself with quiet confidence, dignity, and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on every life she encountered. Her radiant smile could brighten any room, her calming spirit brought comfort to many, and her presence alone made people feel seen, valued, and loved. She possessed a rare beauty — not only outwardly, but within her soul — and those who knew her understood that she was truly one of a kind.

Necole’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life was her beloved and only son. She loved fiercely, protected endlessly, and supported wholeheartedly. She was his safe place, his foundation, his encourager, and his biggest champion. The bond she shared with her son was extraordinary and rooted in unconditional love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. Everything she did, she did with love at the center of it.

A proud graduate of Amos P. Godby High School, Class of 1989, Necole continued her educational journey at Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family Child Sciences and a Master of Social Work degree. For more than three decades, she dedicated her life to serving others through social work and community outreach. Necole had a heart for people, especially children, students, and families facing difficult seasons in life. Her ability to listen without judgment, encourage without hesitation, and give without expecting anything in return made her a light in the lives of so many. Her work was not merely a profession — it was her calling and her ministry.

Necole gave her life to Christ at an early age and remained a faithful and devoted member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church throughout her life. Her relationship with God guided her every step and remained the center of her life. She faithfully served through numerous ministries, including the Choir, Praise Team, Youth Department, Praise Dance Ministry, Vacation Bible School, and various church auxiliaries. Necole believed deeply in loving God, walking in faith, treating others with kindness, and giving back to her community. Her favorite words, “Believe in yourself,” reflected the encouragement and wisdom she continuously poured into others.

Necole embraced life beautifully and unapologetically. She loved traveling and creating memories with those she loved. Whether she was enjoying the coast, fishing, shopping for the latest fashion, trying new recipes in her kitchen, or relaxing while watching her favorite shows, she found joy in life’s meaningful moments. Green, her favorite color, reflected the life, peace, and warmth she carried so naturally. Her love for gospel music, especially the song “I Won’t Let You Fall,” mirrored the very way she lived — uplifting, comforting, and steadfast in faith.

To know Necole was to experience genuine love, elegance, wisdom, and authenticity. She was nurturing yet strong, stylish yet humble, soft-spoken yet powerful. She carried the burdens of others with grace and continuously gave of herself without complaint. She leaves behind a legacy defined by faith, compassion, service, resilience, and unconditional love. Her impact cannot be measured simply by words, because her life was poured into people — into family, community, church, friendships, and especially into the son she cherished beyond measure.

Though our hearts mourn the loss of her physical presence, we celebrate a life that was beautifully lived and deeply treasured. Necole’s love will forever echo through the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created. Her grace was unmatched, her spirit unforgettable, and her legacy eternal. Well done, good and faithful servant. Take your rest, Queen.

Necole leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving father, Joe Bowens Sr.; her spouse, Alvin White Sr.; and her beloved and only son, Alvin White II, who was truly the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her cherished siblings: Joe Bowens Jr., Melerye (Samuel) Washington, Vickey Bowens, and Spencer Bowens Sr., all of Tallahassee, Florida, along with Bertha Bowens and Eloise (Otis) Chapel all from (Rochester, New York); her loving nieces, Alysia Bowens, Alyia Smith, and Allison (Eugene) Braxton; her nephews, Larry Brown and Spencer Bowens II; and a host of treasured great-niece, great-nephews, relatives, dear friends, and beloved church family, all of whom were touched by her grace, kindness, and beautiful spirit.

Necole was preceded in death by her loving and devoted mother, Lue Anna Bowens, and her beloved nephews, Nadrick Corbett and Sedrick Washington, whose memories she carried dearly within her heart.
