Obituary

Anthony Bailey departed his life on January 30, 2026 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, to Beverly Ann Pennington and Joseph Bailey.

Anthony was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in his craft. His passion was painting and drywall, and he was well known for his skill, reliability, and the pride he took in every job he completed. His work reflected his determination and the care he put into everything he did.

In his leisure time, Anthony enjoyed listening to music and was a devoted Chicago Bears fan. He loved watching the games and cheering on his team. Anthony had a personality that those close to him will always remember, especially for his favorite sayings, “Chally Wally and Joe” and “Take some off,” words that brought laughter and smiles to family and friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Ann Pennington; father, Joseph Bailey; sister, Sheryl Pennington; and brothers, Carl Pennington and Garvin Pennington.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving sister, Quida Pennington; nephews and nieces, Lavar Pennington, Quida G. Pennington, Natasha Pennington, Tamel Pennington, and Efrem Haymore; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Anthony’s love, laughter, and memorable expressions will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
