Obituary

Ernest Brent Moore, 72, departed this life on August 8, 2023, at the family residence. He was born July 25, 1951, in Metropolis, Illinois. He arrived in Springfield, Illinois, with his mother and brother July 1964. Ernest graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois, in June 1969. After graduation, he enrolled in International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT) in Evansville, Indiana, where he studied Electronics. After graduating from ITT, he enlisted in the Navy in January 1973. He served as a Communications Tech aboard the U.S.S. H.E. Holt (FF1074), based at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in January 1977 and returned to Springfield. Ernest leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Mary Nell Moore; brother, Eric D Moore; and numerous relatives in Metropolis, Illinois, Quid Cities, Illinois, Des Moines, Iowa, Toledo, Ohio, Albany, New York, Silver Spring, Maryland, and Atlanta, Georgia.
