Obituary

Esther Lavern Sims, 72, departed this life on December 25, 2023. She was born April 11, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Catherine Green and Abrom Lewis.

She graduated high school and continued her education at her local community college where she became a CNA. She went on to work as a CNA for 20 years. She was a loving and caring mother, not to just her own children, but to many others. She adored each and every one of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Green, and father, Abrom Lewis; five sisters, Marion, Mary Alice, Janice, Valerie, and Arlene Green; and four brothers, Harry, Edward, Raymond, and Robert.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Jarry D. Sims; two sons, Charles Gardner (Vivian Grisby Gardner) and Antwon Boyd; a daughter, Crystal Burton (Roy Burton); three stepsons, Willie T. Boyd, Michael Sims, and Jerry D. Sims, Jr.; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
