Obituary

Georgia Ann Holder passed away on March 11, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois at the age of 51. Georgia was just shy of her 52nd birthday when she passed. She was the first daughter of Rebecca (Curbow) Holder and George Holder, born on April 19, 1973, in Springfield, Missouri.

She was her father’s only child, but would go on to have seven more siblings from her mother. Georgia was raised by her mother in Springfield, Illinois with her siblings. As a child Georgia enjoyed playing with her friends and siblings, riding bikes and jumping rope. She remained friends with her childhood friend Barbara. She attended Springfield High School.

After school Georgia moved to St. Joseph, Missouri to be closer to her dad. She and her dad caught up on missed time and spent much time together! Georgia had three children: Jerry, Rodney, and Chiann Phillippe. She was a stay at home mother when her children were small. She later returned to Springfield with her son, Jerry, following.

Georgia was a homebody who loved animals! She absolutely loved when she had visits from loved ones; her eyes would just light up at the opportunity to spend time with those she loved! She loved visits from her dad, George, when he was up to it, spending time with her mom when she was still alive, and late night phone calls with her oldest niece, LaToya, her daughter, Chiann, and childhood friend, Barbara! Georgia was an avid movie watcher and enjoyed organizing her vast movie collection. Georgia also loved to read and do puzzles. Georgia loved food, and her favorite was BBQs because it offered an opportunity to enjoy two of her favorite things at once: spend time with people she loved and eat!

Georgia was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Phillipe, her mother, Rebecca (Curbow) Holder, and her grandparents.

Her surviving family members include her father, George Holder; son, Jerry Phillipe, and daughter, Chiann Phillipe; two grandchildren from her son, Rodney; seven surviving siblings and their partners, including sisters, Samantha (Holder) Clayborne (husband Richard Clayborne) and Latosha Holder, and her brothers, Carl Holder (fiancee Shondraya), Michael Holder, Homer Holder, Jeremy Holder, and Demarco Holder; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course her longtime best friend, Barbara. Georgia will surely be missed by many.
