Obituary
James Armon Day, 51, was born on June 24, 1973, in Springfield, IL. The Lord called him home the morning of October 16, 2024. His parents were Eleanor Day and James Ashford.
He attended Springfield Public Schools, while in junior high school he played Saxophone in the band; while in high school he became a member of the Spartan Sensations, he was one of the four young me who sang the National Anthem at the City Tournament. James loved music and loved to sing. He graduated from Southeast High School 1992. He had several jobs with his last one being employed at Manpower Staffing working for the Illinois Department of Revenue Services. He also performed at the Muni in Showboat and Dream Girls.
He was a member of Union Baptist, where he served on the Junior Usher board under the leadership of Pastor Shoultz. He also sang in the Voices of Union and the Mighty Men of Union.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Day; Grandparents Robert & Barbara Day; Grandfather James H. Ashford.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Adopted father, Eddie G Frazier of Springfield; Godbrother, Geoffrey M Day (wife Felecia) of Katy, TX; Godsister, Galisa M Day of Katy, TX & Andrea Day of Springfield, IL; Godmother, Michelle Hearn (husband John) of Springfield, IL; Sisters: Tasheka & Ashley; Dad, James Ashford; Grandmother, Darnell Johnson of Springfield, IL; A host of aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
