Obituary
Johnny Gorman, 63, departed this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his residence in Springfield, Illinois. Johnny was born on September 30, 1961, the son of Lula Gorman and James C. Gorman in Hayti, Missouri. Johnny married Patricia Smith on February 11, 1995. He was an employee of Eaton Corporation in Lincoln, Illinois, for thirty-five years, where he retired on September 30, 2024. Johnny was a loving and devoted husband; a dedicated father and he truly loved his entire family. He was a true friend to all who knew him. He loved music, fishing, watching sports, and hunting, and he loved his cars. He worked so hard and was always ready to help anyone in need. Over the years, he confessed his hope in Christ.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lula and James C. Gorman; three brothers; Timothy, William, and Jimmy Gorman; and one sister, Deloris Gorman.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Patricia A. Smith-Gorman of twenty-eight years; two daughters, Lashonda Washington and LaShaunda Smith; three sons, William Well, Jonathan Gorman, and Ulysses Smith; five sisters, Margie West, Patricia Gorman, Leola Wilbourn, and Faye (Darnail) Stringfellow, all of Hayti, MO, and Frances (Johnnie) Collier of Orlando, FL; six brothers, James T. Gorman of St. Louis, MO, Joe Gorman of Steele, MO, Arthur (Rita) Gorman, Kenneth Gorman and James Gorman Jr, all of Caruthersville, MO and Samuel (Dorothy) Gorman of Marietta, GA; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
