Obituary
Josephine Williams, “Putty,” departed this life on June 6, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on July 6, 1946, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Goldie Mae Williams and Joseph “Joe” Williams.
Ms. Williams was a school bus monitor for First Student for many years. In addition, she worked in the housekeeping field.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Priscilla Lockhart, Barbara Henry, Bernadette Holmes, and Joyce Williams; brother, William Williams; daughter, Lisa Marie Williams; and granddaughter, Quana S. Poole.
She was survived by: her children, James Carl Williams, Arleen Williams, Murry Williams, Melissa Williams, and Priscilla Williams; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Crawford; brother, Reggie Williams (Polly) Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
