Obituary
Marine Hemphill, 82, was born on May 5, 1942 to the late Beatrice Taylor and Willie Taylor, Sr., in Crenshaw, MS. She brought a profound light and love to those fortunate enough to know her.
Ms. Marine was an avid bowler many years who found joy in every roll of the ball and every moment spent at the lanes. Her passion for the game brought smiles to her loved ones and created memories that will be cherished forever. She was an active member of Mt. Emory and she served on the culinary committee for several years until her health started to decline. Marine worked at Oscar Mayer, Department of Rehabilitation, and AC Humko. She was a longtime member of Amvets. She was a nana to everyone, and Lastly she loved her great granddaughters.
She departed this life on December 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy and the enduring memory of her gentle spirit. Ms. Marine is now reunited with her parents and embraced by their eternal love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Willie Taylor, and a grandson, Kenyon Washington.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Washington and Latonja Binion, one brother, Willie Taylor, Jr., five grandsons, Deshawn Washington, Mikkel(Teresa) Hemphill, Mondell Hemphill, Marcel Binion, Latrell Hemphilll, and four great-grandchildren, who will hold her memory close to their hearts. She is also survived by a cousin who was like a sister to her, Willie McGee, one nephew, one niece, many cousins, other family members and friends.
