Obituary
Michael Darnell Hendricks, 65, departed this life on Saturday December 9, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Michael was born January 17, 1958, the son of Charles Hendricks and Victoria Elaine Speights in Chicago, IL. He was one out of five children.
Mike served in the army and did several years in college. He owned his own business repairing houses. Mike had a passion for playing cards and fishing with his friends and family.
Mike met and fell in love with the love of his life, Verlean Henderson, on September 6, 2005. He would drag the word “baby” when he calls me, and the whole family started calling me baby like Mike. Mike attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and studied the Bible until he couldn’t go no more. Therefore, he would watch it on Zoom. He was looking forward to Paradise.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hendricks and Victoria Elaine Speights.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancé, Verlean Henderson; daughter, Crystal Mack; stepdaughters, Tina and Andrea; stepsons, Slyvester, Chris, and Tonie; brothers, Andre (Phyllis) Hendricks and Wilson (Geraldine) Paige; sisters, Barbara Hendricks and Linda Paige; grandson, Crystal’s son, and step-grandchildren, Satoriya, Jamia, Mekhiya, Renny, Messiah, AJ, Tye Tye, and Zay; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
