Obituary

Rebecca Joan Holder, 68, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on March 2, 2024 in Springfield Illinois. Becky was born on August 10, 1955 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was the daughter of Ronald L. and Beulah M. (Achor) Curbow. 
 
She was raised in Highlandville, Missouri on a farm. She enjoyed horseback riding, helping out on the farm, and spending time with family and friends. She attended high school in Spokane, Missouri.
 
Becky moved to Springfield, Illinois in 1974. She was a dedicated, hard worker. She worked as a cook and a cashier for many years. 
 
In her spare time she enjoyed puzzles, reading, country music, and watching westerns (John Wayne). She loved going out to eat with her family and getting her nails done with her granddaughters. 
 
Becky liked to cook and cherished recipes passed down from her mother. She was always excited to prepare the holiday meals for the family. She also loved baking and was famous for her homemade peanut butter cookies.
 
Becky was the mother of eight children. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all of her family. She had a beautiful heart and always put others before herself. Her door was always open. She would do anything to help anyone especially her children and grandchildren. Becky was known for her strength and love for her family. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ronald and Beulah Curbow, grandparents, and uncles.  
 
She leaves to cherish three daughters; Georgia Holder, Samantha (Holder) Clayborne (Richard) and Latosha Holder all of Springfield, Illinois; five sons, Carl Holder (Shondraya), Michael Holder (Chelsea), Homer Holder (Annie), Jeremy Holder, and Demarco Holder all of Springfield, Illinois; three brothers, Ronald, Rickie, and Kim Curbow; twenty grandchildren, Latoya, LaMalcolm, Deontrey, Makayla, TyQuan, TyQuaris, Treyveon, Heaven, Alana, Karter, Amiylah, Demarion, Ny’Aire, and Aubrey Holder, Dayshiana Price, Tashiana Price-Holder, Kingston Johnson, Jerry, Rodney, and Chiann Phillippe; thirteen great-grandchildren; three aunts, Nancy Minear, Carol Whillite, and Rose Holder all of Missouri; and a host of nieces and friends.
