Obituary

Rekeea Tynese Jackson-Mason gained her wings on July 19, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois. ReKeea was born on June 23, 1989, at McNeal Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of Necole Alexander and Rome Flynn, Sr.

Rekeea graduated from Springfield Southeast High School in 2007. She met her best friend, Mark Mason, Jr., in 2008 and they were united in matrimony in June 2015. To this union, three children were born.

Rekeea was truly creative and talented. She was an established make-up artist who also enjoyed party planning and decorating. She was well-known for creating unique, custom cakes, and treats. She attended Lincoln Land Community College and received her CNA certificate in 2023, and was employed by Memorial Hospital. She pursued her dream of being a business owner alongside her husband, Mark, and established a beauty salon, “It Factor,” in 2024.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Marion (Buddha) Flynn and Edward Jackson, and her maternal grandfather, Floyd Solis.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Mark Mason, Jr.; children: Keemari Prince Anthony, Lyric King M’ari, and Winter Rayne Mason. She leaves behind her mother, Necole Alexander of Hollywood, California; father, Rome Flynn, Sr. of Chicago, Illinois; grandmother, Carolyn Reynolds of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Rome Flynn, Jr., of Hollywood, California, Neko Flynn of Springfield Illinois, Kartel (Latonya) Flynn of Madison, Wisconsin, Steve Wooten, Jr., of Chicago, Illinois, Wizdom Burnes of Hollywood, California, Trumain Flynn of Springfield, Illinois, Tristan Flynn of Atlanta, Georgia, and Chance Flynn of Springfield, Illinois; and sisters, NeeCole Wooten of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Love Burnes of Hollywood, California. She also leaves behind her sister-friend, Robin Freeman, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
