Obituary
Ruby Jean Stamps of Springfield, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023, at home with her family after a long, full life, at the age of 96.
Born on June 13, 1927, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ruby was the only daughter of Doc Berryman and Geneva Kelly. Ruby retired from School District 189 as a resource specialist. Ruby loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Stamps, Sr., and stepson, James T. Stamps, Jr.
Ruby is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Walton and Devlin Stamps, and six stepchildren, Arlene Boulding, Gloria Shelton, David Stamps (Loretta), Katherine Scott, Ruby Easily, and Christopher Stamps (Denise). Ruby’s memory will be forever loved and remembered through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special loved ones.
